Leinster Scór Finals

Bunbrosna GAA were represented in two categories in the Leinster Final of Scór on Sunday which took place in Carnew Emmetts GAA Club in Co. Wicklow.

First up, were the Instrumental Musicians of Caomhán MacGabhann, Róise NicGabhann, Brian McGowan & Maeve Molloy. In what was their first year representing the club in the Adult competition, they gave a brilliant performance on the night but were just edged out. No doubt about it, this very talented group will be back to claim Leinster honours and more in the future.

As is tradition in Scór, the Set Dancing was the final competition on stage on the night. Another faultless performance was delivered by Orla Cleary, Susan Eades, Sandra Eades, Veronica Moran, Eoin Clarke, Seamus Moran, Kenny Murphy and Christopher McCormack. They emerged victorious to claim another Leinster title and they now go on to the All Ireland Final in Killarney on the 18th October. Well done on yet another historic achievement.

Inny Shamrocks U17s

A huge well done to the extremely hard working and dedicated U17 group who took part in the Maryland Tang 7s Tournament today.

Due to some late withdrawals this Inny Shamrocks team had to work incredibly hard from start to finish in two action-packed and highly entertaining games vs Caulry and Millmore Gaels. We were second best in both games on the scoreboard but faultless in determination, grit, and resilience.

Inny Shamrocks produced some fantastic passages of play in both games, and registered scores across the team, including a special mention for fine efforts from William Medforth, Trian Leslie and Fionn Maguire. The hard running, creative and valiant Trian Leslie led by example, ably assisted by the combative powerhouse of Gordon Medforth in midfield.

Conor Scally's hard running, constant link play and determined tackling were great assets, and Ben Forde, despite his youth, was faultless in distribution from goals and adapted well to that position and when moved out the pitch.

The front two of Fionn Maguire and William Medforth combined exceptionally well, with Fionn's movement showing his progress and his tackling and pressure consistent across both games. William Medforths highfielding, link play, and eye for goal proved a menace which truthfully neither opposing teams could handle.

Very well done and thank you to these lads for allowing a tough year finish on a high on the pitch.

Our sincere thanks to both Maryland and Tang clubs for the invitation to this excellent tournament, which was extremely well organised. Our thanks to Declan Nugent for his astute refereeing which allowed both games to flow. In particular our thanks to Trevor Farrell of Maryland GAA for his hard work and assistance.

U15 Championship Finals

We were delighted to host the U15 Championship Division 2 and Division 3 Finals on Sunday. Delvin / St. Paul’s emerged victorious in the Division 3 final when they edged out Cill Óige on a scoreline of 3:09 to 1:06. In the Division 2 Final, Tubberclair saw off the challenge of Lilliput Gaels in an absorbing encounter on a scoreline of 2:11 to 3:06.

Both games were excellent spectacles for the large number of supporters that the four teams brought. A huge well done and thanks to all involved in organising the games today at the pitch and for ensuring car parking was done efficiently and safely. There was a great turn out of volunteers to assist in the smooth running of both games and we thank each and every one of them for their time and support.

Westmeath Quid Games

Westmeath County Board is hoping to raise over €200,000 from a major fundraiser it is holding on the 29th October next that's loosely based on the format of the hit Netflix show, Squid Game.

Quid Game, will see one representative from each of Westmeath's 47 clubs plus 13 others, going head-to-head with the winner taking home €10,000 for their club. Eoin Cawley will be Bunbrosna GAA’s representative. Each club has to raise €1500 to take part in the competition.

Eoin’s fundraising has been going very well and we encourage people to continue to support him through his fundraising link which can be found on our social media pages.
