ACFL Division 3
We hosted St. Malachys on Saturday in Round 4 of the league. On a wet and miserable afternoon for football both teams found the conditions difficult at various points throughout the match.
In what was a tight and cagey opening twenty minutes with the scores tied at three points each, St Malachys used their wind advantage in the final ten minutes of the half where they would score a crucial goal. They led by 1:10 to 0:03 at the break.
With the wind advantage in the second half Bun scored some quality points from Ronan Scally, Luke Kiernan, Ken Conroy, Aidan Finnan and John Kiernan. St. Malachys, while only scoring three points in the second half, defended well to record a 1:13 to 0:09 win.
Team: Liam Mitchell, Conor Newman, Dave Newman, Ronan Scally, Jonny Nolan, Simon Moorehead, Shane McGovern, John Kiernan, Aidan Finnan, Gavin Lyons, Finian Newman, Luke Kiernan, Ken Conroy, Brian Maguire & Cian Tighe. Subs: Mark Donnelly, Gordon Medforth, Eoin McGowan and Darragh McCormack.

Charity Fundraisers
All at Bunbrosna GAA & LGFA are very proud of the efforts by two of our underage players, Trian Leslie and Leon Patje, who are both involved in fundraising for two very worthy causes.
Leon and classmates took part in a 24 Hour Rowing Challenge on behalf of the Irish Cancer Society and have raised over €6,800! The link to donate is still open on
https://www.justgiving.com/page/rowing4cancer?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL
Trian is running a Half Marathon on April 19th at 12:00pm from Streete to St Finians College to raise funds for Ben’s LifeLine, a charity that promotes the distribution, training, and use of defibrillators in local communities. The charity was set up in memory of Ben Murray and any donations will go straight to supporting their work.
Ben was a very sporty character involved with Mullingar rugby and the Downs GAA.
People can follow Ben’s LifeLine on Facebook and Instagram, and the fundraiser link can be found on Instagram at: benslife_charityfundraiser
The direct link to the GoFundMe account is here: https://gofund.me/e3c6e049
Both players are members of our minor panel and we are very proud of their efforts, on and off the pitch! Well done lads!
