ACFL Division 3

We travelled to The Downs on Tuesday evening last to take on the home side in Round 5 of the League. Bump started brightly and a Simon Moorehead goal had them moving well. The Downs responded to this early set back well and kicked some fine scores.

Noel Yourell and Ronan Scally chalked up a pair of fine points and an Aidan Finnan two pointer left the sides close at half time.

The second half saw a tigerish performance from the Bun lads. Great scores from Luke Kiernan, Finnan and Gavin Lyons saw us two points behind as we entered stoppage time. With the final attack, Simon Moorehead won a penalty. Unfortunately Kevin McGuire made a fine save from the penalty as the final whistle sounded straight after.

This was a very good second half performance from Bun and they will hope to maintain them levels for the remainder of the league. Next up is Kilbeggan at home!

Team: Liam Mitchell, Conor Newman, Ronan Scally, Luke Kiernan, Jonny Nolan, John Kiernan, Shane McGovern, Simon Moorehead, Aidan Finnan, Gavin Lyons, Finian Newman, Noel Yourell, Ken Conroy, Brian Maguire & Cian Tighe. Subs: David Newman, Mark Donnelly, Eoin McGowan and Darragh McCormack.

Coaching Course

Please note there is a GAA Certified Coaching Course being run on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th April in Ballynacargy Gaa and Bunbrosna GAA.

This is aimed at beginner coaches and no experience is required - of coaching or of playing football! We encourage anyone who may be interested to take part as there are good skills and practices to learn.

It's for 3 hours (7pm - 10pm) on Friday in Ballynacargy and from 10:00am - 2:30pm on Saturday in Bun.

The Course is free of charge and open to anyone, so if any parent, guardian, older brother or sister would like to participate they are very welcome!
