Underage football

Our U10s took part in a blitz last Saturday 6 July in The Downs GAA club, where we played two games versus the host team and Milltownpass. Spectators were treated to two excellent displays of football, and all the teams, players and coaches are to be complimented on the spirit in which the matches were conducted.

Despite missing some regulars Bunbrosna fielded a strong team, and the wholehearted display in both games is a credit to each of the players, as was their skilful play and excellent teamwork. We rotated goalkeepers between games, with Casey Oprey showcasing his skills between the posts in our first game against the Downs, before moving into attack for our second game and notching a great point. George Scally was a strong, tough and reliable presence at full back, and pulled off a number of excellent blocks. Alongside him Siobhan Molloy had a fine game, and made a number of well anticipated interceptions and vital clearances. Aaron Nally played extremely well, moving between defence, attack and goalkeeper with ease, and his well-placed kick outs in our game versus Milltownpass were a launch pad for several successful attacks. Fionn Leslie gave a barnstorming display at midfield, and he covered every blade of grass assisting his teammates. Aidan Keane marked his debut for our U10s with a towering performance, and his high fielding, carrying and shooting were real assets to Bunbrosna. Cian Murphy and Oisin Clarke were great additions to our squad, with Oisin proving very effective in roles in defence and attack and Cian finishing a great passage of play in our second game with a fantastic point. Caolan Oprey's hard work and strong running proved a huge addition to his team, and he took some fines scores with ease. Kallem McCormack proved a real handful for the opposition in both games, and was a great outlet for our attack with his ability to move into space and win possession.

Well done to the all the players, who are progressing extremely well and are developing into a formidable team.
