Bunbrosna GAA notes 20 Dec 2020
Sincere thanks to everyone for their support of our Cycle Home for Christmas fundraiser this weekend. We are bowled over by the support of our volunteers and are greatly indebted to the public for their incredible generosity and good wishes .
Finally all at Bunbrosna GAA wish to extend our sincere thanks to Maura and Alaine at O Reilly’s Mace and to Aidan and the staff at Geerah’s Daybreak for allowing us to hold our fundraising event on their premises.
Club AGM
We recently held our AGM on Zoom and it proved a very successful platform on which to hold the meeting. All in attendance heard very thorough addresses from the outgoing officers as they detailed the activities of the club over the past year.
Although it was not the most successful year on the field of play for our adult football team it was felt that 2021 would give us an opportunity to regroup ,refocus and return strongerin all competition next season.
It was recorded with much pleasure that our UnderAgesection goes from strength to strength and great credit is due to the hard work and dedication of the Underage committee and everybody who helps out on Saturday mornings
Bunbrosna Scór had an excellent year and it is most pleasing to see the participation of so many of our younger members in Scór na nÓg.
Rounders has taken a central part in the activities of Bunbrosna GAA and our club now competes with the strongest clubs and in the most prestigious competitions nationally. This is all the more remarkable when we realise the club is only running for the last 3 years.
This was a year which saw the Chairman , Secretary and Treasurer step down from their roles after 5 years of sterling service to the club. Martin ,Mary and Aidan were highly praised and sincerely thanked for their dedication , professionalism and above all for their contribution to the club and to its development. While we reluctantly accepted their stepping down we know that they will be on hand to help out, in every way they can ,in the months and years to come.
Our development plan was outlined and it indicates very exciting times ahead as we embark on developing our Underage facilities to include an All Weather training facility and an adjacent state of the art playground.
Officers for the year were then elected .
Chairman Peter Maguire
Secretary Kenny Conroy
Treasurer Colm Mc Cormack
PRO Mark Donnelly
A full list of Club officers and committee will be available shortly on our club website.
