Sports Capital Programme 2022

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the maximum amount available of €150,000 in the latest round of the Sports Capital Programme announced on Friday.

This money will go towards the continued development of our facilities with an All Weather Walking Track and new gym equipment being keen features of this development.

Many thanks to those who assisted us with this application and in particular to Aidan Finnan & Colm McCormack who put so much time into this project and submitted a thorough and complete application.

New Manager

Anthony Maher was ratified as the new Adult team manager on Wednesday night last. Tommy Kelly also comes on board as coach. We wish them both, and the team, all the very best for the year ahead.

Adult League

Our men's team starts off their year on Saturday next when they take on The Downs. Throw in at Bun is at 3:00pm. All support is greatly welcome.

Rounders

As the new season is upon us, Rounders training will start on Saturday 26th February. Over 17s will be at 5:00pm while U17s will train at 6:00pm. New members welcome for both age groups.

Underage Registration

It was great to welcome lots of children back to the club at our registration day on Saturday. There were lots of familiar faces and it was great to see so many new faces also. Registration can be carried out at any time on www.foireann.ie prior to our return to training in the coming weeks.

Membership

Membership for 2022 is now due. The rates of membership this year are as follows: Family - €120, Adults - €60, Juvenile - €30, Student - €30, OAP - €30. All membership must be done through Foireann this year. 

In order to register, log on to your Foireann account and follow the membership prompts. If you don’t have a Foireann account just log onto www.foireann.ie and register a new account and select Bunbrosna as your club. Once you have this done you will be able to select the membership option that suits you best.

Ladies Fitness Classes

There will be ladies fitness classes starting in the next few weeks with Kate Brennan a personal trainer living locally. For more info or to register your interest contact Sinead Tormey on 0877672529.

Westmeath Senior Hurlers

Hard luck to Shane McGovern and the Westmeath hurlers in their league defeat away to Carlow on Sunday.

We would like to wish Chris Grifferty a speedy recovery following a recent accident. 

Congratulations

Congratulations to Ray Carolan and Claire Weston who got engaged on Friday. Ray showed nerves of steel just as he did on the pitch, by proposing live on The Late Late Show.

Congratulations to you both. We wish you a lifetime of happiness together.

Condolences 

All at Bunbrosna GAA wish to offer our deepest sympathies to the Feerick, Fagan & Horan families on the sad passing of Micky Horan, Boardstown, Mullingar.

We offer our sincere condolences to his brothers Owen, Leo, James, Johnny and Christopher, his sisters Mary (McCormack), Elizabeth (Fagan), Ann (Feerick) and Valerie (Allard), extended family and friends.

We would also like to extend our condolences to the O’Donnell family, Mullingar, on the passing of Iris. We offer our deepest sympathies to her husband Padraig and to her son, Padraig, extended family and friends at this very sad time.
