Leinster Colleges ‘A’ Final

Hard luck to Peter Tormey and his Moate Community School Senior team who were defeated in the Br. Bosco Leinster Colleges Final on Friday last in a gripping game in O'Moore Park, Portlaoise. Naas CBS came out on top in the end on a scoreline of 0:11 to 0:09.

Scór na nÓg Quiz Team 2023

To decide our Scór na nÓg Quiz team for this year, we are holding a quiz evening on Thursday next (16th Feb) at 6.30pm at the old dressing rooms.

Anyone U17 who wants to participate for the club this year are very welcome to attend. The top 4 children on the night will go forward to represent the club in Scór competition this year. Best of luck to everyone taking part.

Westmeath Senior Hurlers

Hard luck to the Westmeath hurlers on Sunday when they were defeated by Wexford in the league. They put in a battling display as always but Wexford pulled away in the last ten minutes. Well done to Shane McGovern who lined out at midfield and got the first score of the game.

Leinster Champion

Well done to Eve Medforth on her Leinster boxing title at the weekend. This follows on from the gold medal she won in England recently. Eve has made great strides in her boxing in recent months and is now getting the rewards of all her hard work. Pictured above is a photo of Eve and her family after the fight.

Congratulations

Well done also to the Inny Shamrocks U13s, U15s and U17s who started their pre-season strength and conditioning training in Joey Cleary’s gym in Mullingar last Friday. Training continues this Friday at 8:00pm.

Westmeath Camogie

We hosted a challenge match between Westmeath and Cavan U16s on Saturday last. There were two matches on the day and we were well represented on the Westmeath side. Five players from Clann Gaels; Holly McCormack, Eve Cawley, Grace Bracken, Grace Downes and Claire Loughrey, saw game time in which Westmeath won both games comfortably. Well done to all involved.
