Club Lotto

Club Lotto will take place next Sunday at 12:00pm in the Old Dressing Rooms for anyone that would like to attend. Our Lotto Jackpot is now at a record €13,000. It continues to be our primary source of revenue to fund the day to day running of the club.

In addition, Lotto revenue is funding the continued development at the pitch which will benefit all in our community not just our players. Over the next number of months, our walking track will be near completion and work on the Ball-Wall and All-Weather playing area has been completed.

Our Lotto can be done online by clicking on https://bunbrosnagaa.clubifyapp.com/products. Online entries must be in by 10:00am. Thank you to all who support our club lotto.

Junior Championship Round 1

Bun opened their Junior Championship campaign with a fine win over Moate at The Downs on Sunday. Played on a day that displayed both glorious sunshine and torrential rain, Bun will be delighted to get off to a good start with a fine 2:14 to 1:08 win.

Bun responded well to going two points down and Barry O Mara was flawless in front of the posts for the duration of this game. He kicked five points in the first half alone, with four of these coming from play.

Darragh Lyons also displayed his sharp shooting with three fine efforts from play in the first half. Garvan Dolan and Aidan Finnan accounted for the other points of the first half while Ronan Scally burst forward from wing back to fire low to the net. 1:10 from the first half was a fine return.

The second half saw a much more cagier affair and scores were hard come by. This was in no small part owing to their torrential downpour mid way through the second half with both set of players retreating for their gloves and the ref for his coat!!

Garvan Dolan, Barry O Mara and Matt Hope kicked great scores from the right hand side of the pitch. A  high ball across the square from Shane McGovern found the onrushing  Brian Maguire to fist to the net to put the game to bed. Luke Kiernan ventured forward to kick a great score from the right to close out the scoring for Bun.

Team: Alan Maguire, Luke Kiernan, Joe Tormey, Gavin Lyons, Matt Hope, Simon Moorehead, Ronan Scally, Andy Whitney, Shane McGovern, Aidan Finnan, Ken Conroy, Finian Newman, Darragh Lyons, Garvan Dolan & Barry O Mara. Subs: Mark Donnelly for Gavin Lyons, Brian Maguire for Darragh Lyons, Fintan Finnan for Conroy, Conor Lyons for Whitney, Enda Newman for O Mara, Davey Newman, Conor Newman, Eoghan Murray, Eoin McGowan, Cian Tighe & Tommy Murphy.

Go Games

We had a fantastic morning in Bun on Saturday hosting Blitzes at U7, U9 and U11. We were delighted to welcome teams from Mullingar Shamrocks, Shandonagh, and Kinnegad over the 3 grades. There was some brilliant football on display from all teams and the games were played in great spirit and there was an excellent attitude on display from all the young players. Well done to them all and to their coaches, management and supporters.

Well done to Eoin Clarke and David Newman on organising and coordinating with the respective teams during the week.

Well done to David, Daire Moynihan and Liam Reynolds on their work with the U7s today and to Tommy Murphy and Eoin with the U9s and U11s.

Thank you to Trish Murphy for taking charge of the teas and coffees, which were really appreciated by a lot of the supporters, and to Mary Finnan for having it well arranged and prepared. Thanks as well to Orla, Róisín and Áine for having the old clubhouse in sparkling condition!

A huge thank you to the team of stewards who managed the traffic today. With U7s and U9s on at the same time this could have been a real problem but it was exceptionally well-marshalled and organised. 102 cars were parked during the first Blitz with no difficulty for any of the drivers - this could have been a real issue from a safety point of view, so well done to Brian Crum, Jimmy Finnan, Anthony McCormack, Jimmy McCormack, and Peter Maguire.

Thanks to John Tormey for strimming at the pitch during the week as well!

Inny Shamrocks

Well done to the Inny Shamrocks U13s on a very well contested challenge vs Shandonagh last Friday.
