AGM
Bunbrosna AGM took place on Sunday last. Due to the ongoing restrictions, we once again had to host our meeting on Zoom. Our Chairman, Peter Maguire, opened the meeting with a minute's silence for deceased members of the club during the year. Peter paid a special tribute to Kathleen Moran who sadly passed away in September of last year. Kathleen was a key figure in the development and promotion of all activities in the club for a long number of years.
We were then given a comprehensive review of the year from Peter Maguire. This was a very busy year for the club beginning with the fitness classes in February, foundation coaching course, defibrillator training to name but a few. Peter thanked all involved in the ongoing development of our underage academy and remarked on the great work been done by so many in this area.
Work on our new playground commenced in April and was completed in May. The work on the Astro Pitch began in June and was completed and handed over in September. Both these projects were completed after an outstanding response from our members, local businesses and wider community with generous donations. Peter thanked everyone involved in bringing these projects to completion and to all involved in the fundraising. He also congratulated our Scór Set Dancers on winning the All Ireland Scór title in Claremorris, Co. Mayo in November.
Colm McCormack, Treasurer, brought us through a detailed and thorough report of the club's accounts. Ken Conroy then gave an equally detailed account of the club's year both on and off the field. He detailed the adult teams run to the Junior Final and commended all involved in supporting the team in their run to the final as well as acknowledging the great effort and commitment of the players and management.
Conor Newman, Underage Co Ordinator, reported on the underage development in the club and the growing numbers at this level which is wonderful to see and testament to all the hard work of all our coaches. Conor paid a special thanks to all our underage sponsors throughout the year.
We then had a report from Valerie Molloy on Rounders. Numbers are growing at underage and Adult level and as always are open to new members. We hosted the inaugural U12 All Ireland Rounders Finals in 2021 which was a significant achievement for the club.
Eoin Clarke gave a report on the establishment of Bunbrosna LGFA in 2021 under the one club model. We applied to form a club and after various meetings with the County Board we were given permission to set up U8 and U10 teams to feed in to Clann Gaels at the older age groups.
Des Cawley then provided a report on Registration. He outlined the growing membership at underage level which is testament to the great work being done by all involved at underage level.
