ACFL Division 3 vs Killucan
We travelled to Killucan on Friday night last to take on the home side in Division 3 of the League. The lads battled gamely throughout before falling to a 1-17 to 0-07 defeat. Playing against a team operating in the Senior Championship was always going to be tough and so it proved on the night.
Bun started brightly and had the first score of the game from Ronan Scally after a fine team move and some good work from Noel Yourell. Barry O Mara kicked our only other score of the half as we went in 0:07 to 0:02 down at half time.
Killucan started the second half strongly and had the first two points of the half before Bun responded with three points on the trot. Aidan Finnan, Ronan Scally and a Finnan free narrowed the gap before Killucan hit a purple patch of their own.
The concession of the only goal of the game with 8 minutes to go was a tough blow as a combination of excellent defending and some great saves from Liam Mitchell in goals had held our opponents well up to that point. Aidan Finnan kicked our final score of the game after a good move.
We play Tyrrellspass in our next league game.
Team: Liam Mitchell, Conor Newman, David Newman, Eoin McGowan, Gavin Lyons, Finian Newman, Matthew Hope, Aidan Finnan, Simon Moorehead, Ronan Scally, Barry O Mara, Mark Donnelly, Ken Conroy, Noel Yourell & John Kiernan. Subs: Enda Newman for Lyons, Kevin Mitchell for Donnelly, Jonny Nolan for Hope, Cian Tighe for Noel Yourell & Cian Tighe for Conroy.

Inny Shamrocks Minors
Hard luck but very well done to the Inny Shamrocks minors who played an entertaining and very enjoyable match vs Multyfarnham in the first round of the league on Friday night. Both teams played some very good football and Inny Shamrocks produced some excellent passages of play and well-worked scores, before Multyfarnham pulled away in the last 20 minutes.
Well done in particular to the number of Inny Shamrocks players playing their first game at this grade, all of whom acquitted themselves extremely well. Thanks to Multyfarnham players and coaches and to referee Vinny Cox.
Minor training continues on Mondays 7:30 - 8:30pm on the Astro in Bun. New players welcome. For any queries contact Conor Newman on 087 9330992.
Best Wishes
Best of luck to Declan Forde who officiates in his first match as a newly appointed referee in Westmeath on Friday next.
